The Award Ceremony includes the screening of the film Stealing Giants.

The winning films in each category are awarded with a “Walking Ibex” award.
The “Walking Ibex” imitates Alberto Giacometti's style in the iconic sculpture “L'Homme qui marche I (The Walking Man I)”.

The Swiss Science Film Academy award for SCIENCE COMMUNICATION 2024 goes to the Oscar-Nominated filmmaker CHRISTIAN FREI.
Frei is one of Switzerland’s most renowned documentary filmmakers. With powerful images and moving stories, he manages to shed new light on the connections between culture, politics and science. What makes his films so extraordinary are the calm authentic moments, that endure. In 2021 he received an Honorary Doctorate in Social Sciences from the University of St. Gallen. Frei will soon release his sevenths feature length documentary: BLAME is a reflection on the relationship between science, politics and media. And how we as people are prone to seek for scapegoats and screaming narratives.
